Liner Notes: A Poetry Playlist

We were asked to write about about specific songs/pieces that influenced specific poems. The piece I’m obsessed with appears in track 7 of this playlist: Tchaikovsky’s “Violin Concerto in D major,” 1st movement, performed by the 20th century violinist Jascha Heifetz and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Fritz Reiner in April 1957). Other tracks include songs that inspired Rebecca Gayle Howell, Terry Kennedy, Kerrin McCadden, Tomás Q. Morin, Erica Wright, Adrian Matejka, Wendy Chin-Tanner, Mary Biddinger, & Sara Eliza Johnson.
